TOKUSATSU not TONKATSU

Hello from Q Pop!!!!
Thank you to everybody who came to the Tokusatsu event on Sep 15th... especially artists and friends who always  support us...
The event was such a huge success!! We had over 550 people and many were in super cool custumes!!!

Tokusatsu Art Show food trucks.......

Tomorrow night will feature 2 food trucks.....yum.

For savory asian fusion cuisine...please come eat the delicious creations of Komodo Food Truck!!!
They were featured in Gourmet magazine....don't miss it.

And for sweet stuff......we will have the incredible 2 time Cupcake Wars winning truck....Sweet Arleen's!!!! If you like cupcakes....you will NOT want to miss them.

Tokusatsu: Japanese Science Fiction Art Show- Sept. 15



On Sept. 15th..Q Pop will be having a huge Japanese Science Fiction tribute art show. Over 100 artists will be participating. Some really Big names and some really great up-n-comers.


Tokusatsu (特撮?) is a Japanese term that applies to any live-action film or television drama that usually features superheroes and/or monsters and makes considerable use of special effects (tokusatsu literally translates as "special filming" in Japanese).
These include some of the most popular "Kaiju" characters like Godzilla and Gamera...as well as popular hero characters like Ultraman and Spectreman...or Giant Robo ( Johnny Soko & his flying Robot).

Come to Q Pop and celebrate decades of science fiction films and television shows from Japan through the artwork of over 100 great artists.

BLACK and WHITE: explorations in pen and ink exhibition preview

Only two more days until our newest group show "BLACK and WHITE: explorations in pen and ink" opens up at Q Pop with our usual reception from 7pm-10pm on July 7, 2012. How exciting! Black and white may sound limiting, but that doesn't stop the diversity you will see in the artwork at the gallery.

Takoyaki TANOTA will be joining us once again for more yummy tummy filling adventures so definitely come hungry.

Hope to see you there in your best monochrome outfits (monochrome outfits not mandatory, but highly encouraged)!
